Graduation Information

All graduates will need a cap, gown, stole, and tassel.  Those items can be purchased from Jostens at their website:  Jostens.

Jostens will deliver items to City High sometime after spring break. Listen to announcements to get the exact date.

Please check this list Class of 2026 diploma names to be sure your name is as you expect it to be on your diploma.  If a change needs to be made, email the counseling secretary at fischer.jennie@iowacityschools.org prior to Dec. 1. 

Senior photos are due for the yearbook by January 9, 2026.

As you apply for colleges and scholarships, you may need to have us submit your academic transcript.  The Student Transcript Request Form may be used for this purpose.  If you invited your counselor on the Common App, the counselor will upload the transcript in the Common App portal (IMPORTANT TIP: double check the spelling of the counselor's name/email address to make sure they receive the invitation.)

This survey will be sent to seniors in May and its completion is extremely important.  This is how you will let our office know where to send your final transcript, which will be required by the college you attend, typically before you can register for classes.  We send these out shortly after graduation, before our office closes for the summer.  Avoid stress at college registration and orientation by filling out your Senior Survey as soon as you receive it.

Make plans to attend the grad walk at your elementary school as well as the senior picnic at City High. 

Rehearsal: 10:30-12 on May 29, 2026, Xtream Arena in Coralville

May 30th, 2026, 6:00 pm

Please be advised that the livestream will begin 30 minutes before the start of the event.  

Commencement is scheduled to take place at the Xtream Arena, 200 E. Ninth St, Coralville, IA 52241 at the Iowa River Landing in Coralville.  There is plenty of seating for all of those who wish to attend, there is no need for tickets to this event.
